Twiddling your thumbs during the holidays? Then you need to do this!

If like me, you find yourself at a loose end around the holiday season, you might be thinking how can you be more proactive in your business and what work you should be doing. Trouble is you end up finding work to do that may not necessarily be needed to be done and you fall into the danger of creating unnecessary projects and workloads that are not bringing any return.

Of course, you could look to do some marketing perhaps, but then again won’t everyone be doing this and literally bombarding people with great offers and Sales.

Maybe you could get around to do your accounts (then again maybe not. You are on holiday after all).

So what can you do that is both proactive, will help your business in the future AND can be seen as fun without being seen as work?

One solution that I do every year, is something that as business owners we simply do not take the time to do and yet the holidays are the perfect time for us to learn a new skill set or update an existing one.

Ok so now you’re thinking ‘Man, I don’t want to be sat in some classroom, day in, day out, learning

I hear you and that’s not what I’m suggesting.

Right now is the time for you to rethink your own internal business training for yourself and with so many courses and training online (and of course so many sale options), you can start to upgrade your portfolio of services.

Imagine coming out of the holidays with a brand new service offering and skillset for your clients? How about an existing service that you can take in a different direction or add a premium offer too for your existing clients.

if you do not take time out to do training for yourself or your business at least twice a year, then you are in potential danger of being out of touch and losing customers. Click To Tweet

So now not only are you learning, not only have you used your spare time by working, but you are creating new opportunities for new services and sales within your business.

Trust me, if you do not take time out to do training for yourself or your business at least twice a year, then you are in potential danger of being out of touch and losing customers.

I’m not saying you need to be training all day nonstop – with many online courses you can now just do an hour a day and then go and enjoy yourself. You feel you have accomplished something and still have time to enjoy your break.
